Collection Information: Minimum volume of plasma required is 500 ÁL.

Patient should be on a normal salt diet for at least 3 days prior to test.

Supine: Patient should be lying supine for at least 30 minutes prior to blood collection.

Standing: Blood should be collected midmorning (ideally), after the patient has been up (sitting, standing, or walking) for at least 2 hours and then seated for 5-15 minutes.

If test has been ordered without a requested posture, collect a standing sample.
