2-10 years: 3 mL Light Green top (Li-Heparin) Vacutainer tube

Red or Gold top tubes are also acceptable

Lavender top (EDTA) tubes are NOT acceptable
Collection Information: Minimum volume of plasma or serum required is 700 ÁL for adult samples or 200 ÁL for pediatric samples.

This test may be ordered by physicians from the fertility clinic at Victoria Hospital. Other physicians will require biochemist approval to order the test. Please call Dr. Angela Rutledge at ext. 77626 or the on-call biochemist for approval.

> 48.5 pmol/L: Suspicion of PCOS or granulosa cell tumours

Comments: Biotin may interfere with this test. Samples should not be taken from patients receiving high biotin doses (i.e. > 5 mg/day) until at least 8 hours after the last biotin administration.

This test is not covered by MOHLTC. Patients from the fertility clinic will be required to pay for the test.
