Reference Range: Neutrophils demonstrate normal oxidative burst following stimulation by PMA, not suggestive of a diagnosis of CGD
Effective Date: 2009-10-23
Revised Date: 2019-02-05
Critical Value:
Interpretive Comments: Negative: Neutrophils demonstrate normal oxidative burst following stimulation by PMA, not suggestive of a diagnosis of CGD

Positive (Afflicted): Neutrophils demonstrate abnormal oxidative burst following stimulation by PMA, suggestive of a diagnosis of CGD. CGD is an extremely rare disease. It is recommended that the test be repeated for confirmation with a new specimen.

Positive (Carrier): Two populations of neutrophils identified. One population demonstrates normal oxidative burst following stimulation by PMA, the second demonstrates abnormal oxidative burst. Suggests patient is a carrier for CGD. CGD is an extremely rare disease. It is recommended that the test be repeated for confirmation with a new specimen.
Special Processing: Prior booking of the testing is required. Call 519-685-8300 ext. 57450
Comments:
