Specimen Type: Dried blood spots on a Newborn Screening-type card.

Blood can be from a heel prick, finger prick, or Green top (Sodium or Lithium Heparinized) Vacutainer tube.
Collection Information: On a Newborn Screening-type card, saturate each circle completely (i.e blood dot should be clearly visible on both front and back of card).

Air dry horizontally at room temperature. Do NOT heat the card to dry!

Once the blood spots are completely dry (approximately 3 hours) seal the card in a plastic bag and send to Biochemical Genetics at room temperature.
