Interpretive Comments: Clinical history is an important component for diagnostic interpretation.
Please check pertinent clinical information on the requisition.
Special Processing: Spray the smeared slide immediately with Cytology spray fixative.
Allow to dry before placing in the slide transport container.
Using a pencil label the frosted end of the smeared slide with the patient's name.
Unlabelled slides cannot be processed

Method of Analysis:  
Critical Information Required: Specimen slide must be spray fixed and labelled with the patient's name.
Storage & Shipment: Place the slide in a cardboard or plastic transport container.
Transport all specimens in a biohazard transport bag with the specimen in the ziploc area separating the requisition in the side pocket.
