Specimen Type: Serology: 5 mL Gold or 6 mL Red top Vacutainer tube

PCR-Must be accompanied by one full Lavender top (EDTA):
CSF (2-3 mL)
Synovial Fluid (2-3 mL)
Skin Biopsy (1-5 grams of fresh tissue)
Collection Information: Collect acute and convalescent blood aseptically in a Vacutainer tube.

PCR testing must be cleared by Medical Microbiologist before collection.
Requisition: Serology: PUBLIC HEALTH LABORATORY TEST REQUISITION
PCR: Obtain from Microbiology Laboratory by calling x 52226
Test Schedule: Serology is referred out weekdays to the Public Health Laboratory.
PCR is referred to National Microbiology Laboratory Monday-Wednesday.
