Collect urine over a 24 hour period in a sterile bottle containing 30 mL 6N HCl.

A frozen 1 mL aliquot is the minimum requirement.

Keep away from heat or direct sunlight.

For 48 hours prior to collection, diet should be free of avocado, banana, coffee, tomato, plum, eggplant, hickory nut, walnut, pineapple and mollusks. A diet low in tryptophan is required. Patients should also abstain from aspirin, corticotrophins, MAO inhibitors, phenacetin, catecholamines, reserpine and nicotine.

Please complete the laboratory label attached to the collection bottle to include patientís name, collection start time and date and collection end time and date.
