Collection Information: Collect sample in an orange top routine specimen container containing one part Cytolyt solution to two parts urine.

Left or right specimen sites must be clearly labelled using separate requisitions.

Critical Information Required: Label container "Right" or "Left" sites where appropriate.

Cytolyt fixed samples are crucial for preservation while in transport.
Storage & Shipment: Specimen container must be labelled with patient identification, specimen type, left or right site when appropriate and a Cytology fixative label previous to transport.
Transport all specimens in a biohazard transport bag with the specimen in the ziploc area separating the requisition in the side pocket.
