Blood collection tubes with separator gels are not acceptable for this test.
Collection Information: To monitor trough concentration, collect immediately before next dose. Wait until the third dose before collecting samples for therapeutic monitoring.

To monitor peak concentration following traditional dosing, collect sample 30 min after end of dose infusion. Wait until the third dose before collecting samples for therapeutic monitoring.

To monitor peak concentration following extended dosing, after the third dose collect a sample 8-12 h after end of dose infusion. Record the exact time of sampling and use nomogram for dosage adjustment if necessary.

Minimum volume of serum required is 1 mL.

For urinary tract infection (peak): 15-30 mg/L

8-12 h post dose (peak): Use nomogram for interpretation
