Effective Date: 2008-11-15
Revised Date: 2014-02-25
Critical Value: LRCP ONLY - Creatinine: >500 µmol/L
Interpretive Comments: Normal levels correlate with total body muscle mass. Not markedly affected by diet or dehydration. In assessment of renal function, plasma creatinine remains normal down to a GFR of about 0.5 mL/sec. Therefore, creatinine clearance must be done to detect early renal impairment.
