Comments: The "HIV Ag/Ab Combo Screen" simultaneously detects both HIV p24 antigen (Ag) and antibodies (Ab) to HIV type 1 and type 2 (HIV-1/HIV-2) in human serum or plasma.

Please note that the HIV Ag/Ab Combo result does not distinguish between the detection of HIVp24 antigen, HIV-1 antibodies, or HIV-2 antibodies.

A specimen with a borderline or reactive result on an HIV screen test will proceed to confirmatory testing according to the HIV testing algorithm.
