Collection Information: This sample type cannot be processed as a STAT request. Samples are handled in a priority sequence and results are reported as they become available.

Insert a sterile swab into the nose until resistance is met at the level of the turbinates (approximately 2.5 cm).

Rotate the swab against the mucosa.

Repeat the process on the other side using the same swab. Place swab in transport media.
