Specimen Type: Samples required from mother and father:

- 10 mL whole blood collect in Red top tube
- 30
mL whole blood collected in Sodium Citrate, EDTA, Blue top tube or ACD Yellow top tube

Sample required from baby:

- Whole blood: 2 mL EDTA blood
or
Amniotic Fluid: Discard first 3 mL amniotic fluid drawn; draw 10 mL fluid for testing (can be drawn into a 6 mL Red top Vacutainer tube)
Collection Information: Do NOT refrigerate or spin.

Samples must be drawn Monday to Wednesday, prior to 1300 hrs.

Samples will not be accepted on Thursday or Friday unless ordering physician makes special arrangements with Platelet Immunology Lab, Hamilton.
