2-10 yrs: 2 mL Green top
Collection Information: Minimum volume of serum/plasma required is 1 mL.

Serum from a 5 mL Gold top or 6 mL Red top Vacutainer tube is also acceptable.

Minimum volume of blood required for a pediatric sample is 0.5 mL.

Trough specimens are to be drawn immediately before a dose is administered.

Peak specimens should be drawn 30 minutes after an IV injection, 60 minutes after an IM injection, 30 minutes after the end of a 30 minute IV infusion (time frames are longer if the patient is renally compromised).
